The Vlasits lab is an environment where all people are welcome. We believe that our science depends on inclusion and equitable support of people of all types. We are committed to doing the work to fully support all lab members' training and career goals. Let’s do some cool science together!
Open position(s):
The Vlasits Lab seeks a post-doctoral researcher for a funded project to study retinal function in neurodevelopmental disorders. Ideal candidates will have experience with either 2-photon imaging or single cell electrophysiology and be enthusiastic about studying the retina. We are a small, dynamic team setting up state-of-the-art experiments to study the retina and visual behavior located in the heart of Chicago. Interested candidates should email Dr. Vlasits with a CV and cover letter.
In addition, we are always looking for new colleagues to join our team. See below for general information about applying.
Post-doctoral researchers interested in joining the lab should submit a CV and letter of interest to Prof. Vlasits via email. Here is a great guide to choosing and applying for a postdoc.
PhD students are supported through UIC's GEMS, GPN, and MSTP programs. We are affiliated with the Dept. of Anatomy & Cell Biology, the Dept. of Psychology and Biological Sciences. The lab may also accept rotation students through additional affiliations - get in touch with Prof. Vlasits to discuss.
Undergraduates interested in research experience may contact Prof. Vlasits with a resume and a one paragraph email explaining why you are interested in the research in our lab. We expect a commitment of at least one year.
